Overview
This project involved designing a modern, production-ready kettle within an extremely short timeframe of just three days. The goal was to create a product that would stand out from existing models through a clean visual language, functional enhancements, and ergonomic form—all while staying aligned with production realities. The design needed to respond to user expectations while offering a fresh take on a common household appliance.
Design Challenge
The core challenge was to develop an innovative and user-focused kettle under intense time pressure, with limited iteration time. Beyond speed, the design had to be ergonomic, aesthetically refined, and feasible for manufacturing. At the same time, the product needed to introduce features that could elevate the user experience in a saturated and highly competitive market. This required sharp focus, clear prioritization, and efficient execution across research and design stages.
Role & Responsibilities
As the sole designer on the project, I was responsible for the entire product development cycle, including market research, concept ideation, sketching, 3D modeling, and preparing presentation visuals. My role demanded balancing creativity with practicality to deliver a strong design direction within a highly constrained timeline.
Outcome
Despite the accelerated timeline, the project resulted in a production-feasible kettle design that successfully combines technological sophistication with timeless aesthetics. The design met all functional and visual requirements, and internal teams appreciated how it offered a differentiated presence in the market without overcomplicating the user experience.

Market Research & Insights
Given the limited time frame, I began with a rapid market and competitor analysis to identify common trends, pain points, and gaps in existing kettle designs. Most products appeared overly bulky or lacked a clean, modern identity. This revealed an opportunity to design a minimalist, ergonomic product that could stand out through simplicity and thoughtful details.

Concept Generation
Working under time pressure, I quickly developed a range of sketches focused on handle integration, lid transitions, and base refinement. I aimed for a design language that would communicate soft precision and visual calm, while supporting intuitive interaction.

3D Modeling & Refinement
I translated the selected concept into 3D using CAD software, refining proportions and part transitions. Special attention was given to the kettle’s induction-compatible base, ensuring a seamless integration between new form and existing technology. Every detail was considered to support both visual purity and everyday functionality.

The final kettle design is defined by its simple, elegant form, offering a minimalist silhouette that blends effortlessly into modern kitchens. A key innovation is its use of induction technology, aligning the product with future-forward energy trends. The design emphasizes intuitive interaction, comfortable grip ergonomics, and a subtle base transition that gives it a light, floating feel on the countertop. The product’s surfaces and proportions were carefully considered to reflect clarity, calm, and confidence—three core visual drivers behind the design.
