Overview
This project reimagines a vintage analog alarm clock and wrist watch, blending nostalgia with modern minimalism. Inspired by the calm, meditative quality of Japanese Zen gardens, the goal was to preserve the emotional connection of a classic clock while updating its form and materials for today's design-conscious user.
Challenge
The challenge was to modernize a vintage object without stripping away its emotional resonance. The design needed to maintain analog functionality while feeling timeless, tactile, and quietly elegant—not just a tool for timekeeping, but a calming presence in the user's environment.
Outcome
The final concept is a modern analog alarm clock that captures the spirit of tradition and Zen philosophy and wrist watch It brings a sense of ritual and stillness to daily routines, serving as both a functional object and a visual accent in interior spaces. With its carefully balanced proportions, tactile materials, and minimalist execution, the clock invites users to pause, focus, and reconnect with time in a more mindful way.
